There is just something magical about adding foil to a handmade card. ✨ When the light catches that beautiful metallic finish, even the simplest project can suddenly have an entirely different look.

For this week’s I Made This Myself Monday, I’m diving back into the Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System and exploring the second release of Hot Foil products featured in the Radiance Awaits brochure.

One of the things I enjoy about hot foiling is that it gives us another creative option without changing what we already love about card making.

We can still stamp. We can still die cut. We can still play with Designer Series Paper, cardstock, embellishments and all those wonderful little details. 💕 Hot foil simply gives us another layer to play with . . . SHINE.

And depending on the foil color, cardstock and design you choose, that shine can feel elegant, whimsical, festive, sophisticated or downright FUN. 🤩

What Is the Stampin’ Hot Foil System?

The Stampin’ Hot Foil System allows you to add beautiful metallic foil details to your handmade cards, scrapbook pages, and other paper crafting projects.

The system works together with your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and specially designed Hot Foil Dies to transfer foil onto your cardstock.

Instead of simply cutting or embossing, you can add that beautiful metallic shine that catches the light and gives your projects an entirely different look. ✨

Three Foil Colors

The first three Stampin’ Hot Foil Rolls are:

💛 Gold
🩶 Silver
🩷 Pink

And YES . . . that pink might already have my name written all over it. 😂

I love that having three different colors immediately gives us options for everything from elegant and classic projects to bright, playful designs.

Hot Foiling Is Another Creative OPTION

One thing I really want crafters to understand is that hot foiling doesn't suddenly replace all of the other things we already love.

It's another tool in our crafty toolbox.

Many of the products coordinate with stamps and dies that can also be used independently, so you can take inspiration from Hot Foil artwork even if you don't foil every project.

You can die cut.
You can foil.
