This wicked cute card was created using Close To My Heart's Wicked Stamp Set which happened to be the August Stamp of the Month!! I am really into kraft paper so couldn't resist using our new 6"x6" Kraft Die-Cut Cards. The patterned paper is called Mischief and is also one of eight new lines from CTMH!! Love it as it is thick cardstock weight and double sided with the wonderful zip strip on the top that can be used as a border!!

One lucky ghoul will receive this super cute stamp set for FREE. In order to be entered you must leave a comment on this post AND become a 'follower' of KeeleysKreations. I will draw one lucky ghoul's name out of my witch's hat next Friday, October 8.

•Use diagrams on page 48 of Magic™ and this cutting guide to cut papers.
•Trim Sunset border from zip strips as follows: 8" and 11"
•Sponge photos, base pages, two zip strips, and all cut-out pieces with Cocoa ink
•Stamp title with Cocoa ink on title piece and trim
•Stamp sentiment with Cocoa on H
•Stamp small flourish with Cocoa ink on E
•Stamp web flourish border with Cocoa ink on J
•Stamp book spine twice with Cocoa ink on 2" × 1 1/2" web B&T accent
•Stamp the following on 2" × 3 1/2" Colonial White accent: book spine once with Black ink and twice with Cocoa ink then use blending pen to drag a bit of the color to the inside portions of images; stamp top of candle with Cocoa ink so just the top part of the wax and flame are stamped then lightly color image with blending pen; stamp tombstone with Cocoa ink; trim images
•Assemble layout according to pattern on page 48
•Score and fold 1/2" × 8" accent as desired and attach to top of G
•Attach Midnight felt shapes and cut-out accents, as desired (Tip: To make the chandelier cord, use the 1/8" × 2" diamond B&T paper and a small section of the felt fence.)

•Trim phrase from zip strip
•Round two kitty-corners on each of the six 1 3/4" × 1 3/4" accents
•Stamp two skeletons and top of bottle with Black ink on 3" × 3" Sunset cardstock; trim
•Stamp sentiments of choice with Black ink on three of the 1/2" × 5 3/4" Sunset cardstock papers
•Stamp five tombstones with Grey Wool ink on 1 1/4" × 3 1/4" Colonial White cardstock; trim
•Trace the Dimensional Elements letters “s”, “p”, “k”, and “y” on 2 1/2" × 6 1/2" Sunset cardstock; trim and attach to coordinating letters
•Sponge edges of all cut-out papers with Black ink
•Assemble pennants, trimming papers and using 3-D foam tape, as needed
•Sponge pennant edges with Black ink; use tip of pencil to punch holes in top two pennant corners
•Stamp three images of choice with Colonial White ink on papers and one image on center of large crow felt shape; set ink with craft heater
•Trim pieces from Midnight felt shapes to create multiple elements on the banner
•Attach felt shapes, all cut-out accents, and title

My Ultimate Upline, Karen Morris, created this video and had it on display at her Team Meeting on Wednesday night of Convention. I received two awards from her as you will see my name listed under the Dream Team for:

1) Top Recruiting (22 Consultants) - #4 on her team
2) On-Track to earn the Hawaiian Incentive Cruise in March 2012

I also received two awards that night from Karen's 1st Level Downline - Kimberly Williams from the Stampers With Attitude Team for:

1) Top Recruiting (22 Consultants) - #1 on her team
2) Top Personal Sales - #1 on her team

On Friday night CTMH held their annual Convention Banquet. I received an awesome award, got to walk up on-stage to accept it and got my picture taken with the Vice Presidents afterwards. It was sooooo cool!! I received an award for being a Top Recruiter in the company. I was #8 in the ENTIRE company with 22 Consultants added to my team since Convention last year. I knew I had done well recruiting (expecially in May) but I had no idea it would win me an award. :o)

I was shaking so badly when I got back to my seat. My team and I wanted to see what it looked like, and I had a hard time opening up the box...LOL!! My hands would not stop shaking, and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face all night!! I look forward to trying to beat that total this year!!

INDOOR WATERPARK:
The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, which is just down the street, offers Crawdaddy Cove, a year round indoor water park offering families and guests complete fun and safe entertainment. All ages will love the SS Crawdaddy Shrimp Boat and the unique atmosphere of the Louisiana Bayou Adventure. We are able to use the waterpark for only $4 (normal price is $15) per person. If you are interested please e-mail me right away to get on the list. I should know 1-3 days before the crop if I can get tickets as they are given to the hotel guests first.

I'm Leaving On A Jet Plane...

Well actually I'm leaving my house to head to the Milwaukee Airport where I will fly to Las Vegas and then on to Los Angeles and then take a shuttle to the Disneyland Hotel for Close To My Heart's annual Convention...WOOHOO!! I'm soooooo stinkin' excited. I've looked forward to this day since Convention ended last year in Washington DC. If you want to leave for lunch and/or dinner or shopping and come back you are more than welcome to. If you would like something to drink throughout the day you will need to bring your own beverages as well as any snack type foods.

INDOOR WATERPARK:
The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, which is just down the street, offers Crawdaddy Cove, a year round indoor water park offering families and guests complete fun and safe entertainment. All ages will love the SS Crawdaddy Shrimp Boat and the unique atmosphere of the Louisiana Bayou Adventure. We are able to use the waterpark for only $4 (normal price is $15) per person. If you are interested please e-mail me right away to get on the list. I should know 1-3 days before the crop if I can get tickets as they are given to the hotel guests first.

Were you not able to attend a workshop because you had something else going on? No Problem. Let me know what you want to do, and I can have it available for you to work on during the crop!!

CTMH's Fill in the Blank Stamp Set (D1465)

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication,” said Leonardo da Vinci, and who could argue with that great artist? The seeming simplicity of the My Acrylix® Fill In the Blanks stamp set (D1465) is what makes it such a perfect—and perfectly versatile—addition to any stamper’s toolbox!

The words and outline images that make up this set really lend themselves to a variety of looks and techniques. Let’s take a peek at some artwork!

The butterflies on this card are stamped tone-on-tone using the small butterfly image from the Fill In the Blank set, and then we took word stamps and stamped them in first and second generation to create our own patterned paper.

We’ve also used the small butterfly stamp on this layout, but can you guess what other stamp we used from the set? If you guessed “flower,” you’re right! Since our My Acrylix stamps are flexible, we’ve scrunched up the flower stamp in different ways to get these cute cloud images. We stamped them on B&T Duos® paper to give them a subtle pattern.

For this card, we cut out the large butterfly stamp image a few times and then layered it to make it dimensional. Here are the steps so you can make it yourself:

1.Stamp butterfly with Desert Sand ink on Colonial White cardstock. Using a craft knife, cut along wings, leaving body intact. Mount cardstock piece on Cocoa cardstock and Bamboo B&T paper. Pop up wings using 3-D foam tape.

2.Stamp butterfly again on Crystal Blue B&T paper. Cut out entire image, omitting body. Mount on Colonial White butterfly using 3-D foam tape.

3.Stamp butterfly a third time on Sweet Leaf B&T paper. Cut out entire image, including body, and mount on Crystal Blue butterfly with 3-D foam tape.

4.Accent body with Opaques Mocha adhesive gems.

This card, featured in the Spring/Summer 2011 Idea Book on page 96, also shows the stamping on B&T paper technique. This time we used the bird stamp, and the background pattern is much stronger. To give visual variety, we stamped the bird’s wing on a complementary piece of Grey Wool cardstock. Then, we stamped three different sentiments with Grey Wool ink, then highlighted one of them by stamping over it in Goldrush ink. This brings in a third color and makes the “friends always” sentiment stand out as the main message of the card.

Does this card look familiar, too? It’s also from the Spring/Summer 2011 Idea Book on page 96. Check out the Hollyhock cardstock on the sides. We stamped the flower on it in a repeating pattern to make an abstract, subtle patterned paper. Notice how the petals overlap in various spots? This gives the flower image a whole new look!

And here’s a final technique for you: using the stamp set as a cutting guide for negative space then filling it with a patterned paper to give visual interest. To create the stars you see in this layout, follow these steps:

1.Stamp three stars on top of your layout, overlapping paper pieces and photos.

2.Use a craft knife to cut out the center, leaving a 1/8" border, and distress the edges with a stipple brush dipped in Desert Sand re-inker.

3.Stamp three 2 1/2" × 2 1/2" pieces of Colonial White cardstock with words or phrases, using Cocoa ink and first, second, and third generation.

4.Attach the cardstock pieces to the back of your layout so the sentiments show through.

5.Accent each star with a pair of Opaques Mocha adhesive gems to give them even more zing!! Have you created a fun project using the My Acrylix Fill In the Blank set?

Just wanted to apologize for being MIA for an entire month!! WOW did a lot happen in February!! I'm gonna start with the positive because there was sure a lot of negative that happened...LOL!! I can look back at most of it now and laugh, but at the time I was pretty upset.

The Good...
As most of you know, Close To My Heart had an awesome February Campaign called Free, Free and Fabulous. I was super excited to have 4 fabulous gals join my CTMH Team - From the Heart Embellishers!! Heather from California, Alicia from Oregon, Stephanie from Wisconsin and Mary Jo from Washington!! How cools is that?!?! This was the highlite of my month. They have officially made me an Executive Manager with Close To My Heart!! WOOHOO!! Thanks Ladies!!

The Bad...
Out Samsung TV of 6 years died. The colorwheel shattered so Sean ordered a piece to hopefully fix it for $102. He completely tore the inside of the tv apart...there was not a single component left in the unit. Once the part came a few days later he luckily (and with some skill...LOL) was able to repair it. It is now back to normal...Knock On Wood.

and The UGLY...
Thursday, February 9 I had gone to dinner with my mom and dad, hubby and kiddos. My parents were in town to watch our kids for a long weekend while Sean and I went to Las Vegas to go see Garth Brooks.

When we finished dinner, I decided to go back into work around 7:30pm to finish up some things so that I didn't stress out about having a lot on my plate when I got back to work on Tuesday. Around 10:00pm I decided to head home. I was about 3 miles from my house when I stopped for a red light. I was stopped and just happened to glance in my review mirror when BAMB...a Lexus SUV smashed into the back end of me pushing me half way thru the intersection. I couldn't believe it.

It gets even better.

She proceeds to try and drive around me and nails me for a second time pushing me thru the intersection!!??!! Oh how kind of her?!?!? What the heck?!?!

Oh the story isn't done quite yet.

She then pulls around me and drives in the PDQ Gas Station Parking Lot and sits for a few seconds.

And then...

SHE DRIVES AWAY!!??!!??!!??!! WTH??!!??!!

I was in such a daze I didn't know what the heck happened. I knew it was a cream colored Lexus SUV, but I didn't catch her plates. Luckily 2 witnesses stopped who had gotten her plates. When the police came they told them what had happened. Turns out that another witness who heard the accident got her plates when she pulled into the PDQ Parking Lot. Thank Goodness. I'm so thankful they stopped and helped out!! I was very ticked off about the whole incident and really ticked off that it was the night before we were to leave to go to Vegas!!

I declined having to have an ambulance as at the time nothing hurt. After having to talk to the police officer and the tow-truck driver I was starting to have pain between my shoulder blades and neck. So my dad and husband took me to the ER to get x-rays taken. They put me in a neck brace to be safe. Everything came out fine. They gave me a prescription for Vicadin and a muscle relaxer. So we headed to Walgreens to get me some drugs and then to Taco Bell to get some food so I could take the drugs...LOL!!

We got home around 2:00am and quick packed our clothes for the trip. I was in bed around 2:30am. Man did that alarm at 5:30am come quick. So off to the airport we went. I took my drugs and slept all the way...it was great...fell asleep before the plane even took off and had to be woken up when we landed...LOL!!

The trip was awesome!! I was pretty sore and stiff, but we made the best of it. Garth Brooks at the Wynn was AMAZING. It was just him and his guitar. Trisha Yearwood even came out to sing with him. How Cool!! Definitely choose the 10:30 show if you get the chance to go as the 8:30 one had to end by 10:00. He played until 1:30 am for us!! AWESOME!!

When we returned it was insurance companies galore. We found out my 2008 Toyota Sienna XLE had been totaled out with $19,000 damage. YIKES!! We got our insurance check and bought a new 2011 Toyota Sienna SE. I LOVE IT!!

Now we are still dealing with insurance as far as medical bills go because I am having to see a chiropractor due to neck and upper back issues.

Oh yeah...I forgot to tell you. She was arrested for OWI (Operating A Vehicle While Intoxicated) and Hit-And-Run. I can't tell you how thankful I am that my kids were NOT in the vehicle with me. I seriously think things would not have gone so well for her if you know what I mean...LOL!!

So with all that stress I think my immune system was running on fumes so I took on a HUGE headcold complete with headache, sneezing, sniffling, coughing, etc. I am finally on the mend and not needing to carry a Kleenex box around with me every where I go...LOL!!

I am now ready to get back to business as usual!! So hopefully you will see me posting on my blog on a regular basis again!! I've missed you all!! Get ready to get your crafty groove back on!! I sure am!!
